A creation that tells a story of contrasts and harmonies, where the initial freshness and sweetness merge into a contemplative heart, ending in a rich and reassuring base,
creating a
perfect accord of olfactory notes.
Hinoki is a Japanese cypress known for its woody, fresh and balsamic aroma, often associated with spirituality and meditation. In music, Canone Inverso is a figure in which
the main
melody is played retrograde, i.e. backwards, offering a feeling of reflection, introspection and a strong link to the past.
Bergamot opens this jus with a lively luminosity while Sichuan Pears add an intriguing, spicy sweetness; the pungent intensity of Ginger conveys
curiosity and a sense of adventure.
Hinoki infuses an earthy, contemplative depth, transporting the soul to a Zen garden where serenity reigns supreme; Iris adds a note of ethereal elegance, creating
a sublime, enveloping contrast.
A base of Vetiver, combined with Cedarwood, brings a mysterious sensuality and Cypress, with its balsamic notes, gives a feeling of space and freedom.
The use of Hinoki was highlighted by Antoine Maisondieu with ‘Hinoki’ from the Monocle Scent One series, a perfume created for Comme des Garçons in collaboration with
Monocle in 2008.
